So it's been over a month now since I visited my old stomping grounds in St. Louis for the surprise birthday party of a dear friend. It was the 'Secret Felicia Party'...very top secret. And it was a huge success! Kyle and all of Felicia's family and friends kept it a secret and she was shocked beyond belief. It was great fun!
For me, it was great to go back to St. Louis for the weekend. I love that city! It's funny though because I haven't lived there for so long now. So while it is a familiar place that still feels like home, it feels strangely new at the same time. Something about visiting made me feel so alive...
Maybe part of that feeling came from the time I got to spend with some dear old friends. Felicia, of course, is one of them. And I got to see Gina and Kelly for the first time in years. I've never been good at phone calls and keeping in touch with everyone so I hadn't seen Kel and G in a long time or talked to them either. It was amazing for the four of us to be together again... full of old stories, new stories and lots of laughter! I didn't realize how much I missed them. I also got to see my favorite Shanny, even if for only a couple of short hours!
'Secret Felicia Party' was a success!
I tried to capture Felicia's entrance into the party, but it didn't work out so well. She wouldn't stand still so all of my shots were blurry.... here she is, in total shock.
Me, Kelly, Felicia and Gina... reunited!
The traditional leg picture! :)
Another picture? SMILE! :)
Should we get more wine? What? THREE more bottles??
And then there is this little one... Little M. Awwww, so cute! She is Felicia and Kyle's first daughter and she is adorable! I am filled with joy for Felicia because of this perfect little girl.
Sadly, I didn't get to meet Kelly's new baby. It was great to hear her talk about her! I hope to get to meet her before she gets too grown up...
I also got to see one of my other favorite friends... Shanny!! Unfortunately I didn't get to spend much time with her because she was out of town for most of the weekend. But the short time that we shared was great. I wish I could run over to her house every morning for coffee and donuts (of course, you have to take your own coffee to Shanny's!). :)
Here is her little man, Parker! He is getting SO big! He's definitely at a fun age and is looking forward to meeting his new little 'sister' (yeah yeah nobody knows if the baby is a girl or a boy... but while I was there, he was calling the baby a sister).
I cannot wait for the next trip to St. Louis... old friends are amazing... good for the heart and soul.
